Who Am I? My name is Rachel Blackman, and I am a native of Seattle, Washington. On the online world of the Internet, I am known by a variety of names - Jeanne (one of the original names my mom had picked for me), Sparks, and so on - but the one nickname that carries between the RL and 'net worlds is Sparks, and so it's the name I use as my primary e-mail and identity. Hence, my webpage title. I am 23 years old as of this writing, and have a wide variety of interests; so many, in fact, that sadly I often end up bouncing between them and not really dedicating to any one of them. Among those interests are art, writing, coding and playing on MU*s (online interactive text-based games). I also have a passing interest in photography, an interest in hiking, enjoy kayaking, and love animals (cats, dogs, horses, birds, snakes). I consider myself a decent hand at HTML as well, and enjoy using it to try to create simple but artistic ways of expressing myself on the web. Art seems to weave into all of my interests; my HTML is an attempt to create functional art on the web. My drawing and 3D rendering is, well, art. My writing is an attempt at literary art, as is my online roleplaying. I love trying to emulate styles and feels in photography; the pictures on the right are attempts to look like a photo from an old black-and-white artbook, though unfortunately they aren't very good pictures of me. Even my code is an attempt at art; finding the most elegant, simple ways of doing something. Since art works into everything I do, this website is just intended to be sort of a gallery in some ways, as well as a jumping-off point and a place for me to experiment with my HTML skills. So don't expect too horribly much from it.
